Professor Colin Barrow
Deakin University’s Chair of Biotechnology and Director of the Centre for Chemistry and Biotechnology, specialising in natural products, food biotechnology and omega-3 innovation. With a PhD, an MBA, and over 130 publications, he brings both scientific authority and commercial R&D experience. His group leads internationally collaborative research in omega-3 biotechnology and amyloid-based nanomaterials.
Dr Reshan Jayawardena
A food scientist and Senior Research Scientist at Waitaki Biosciences, where he leads innovation in ingredient extraction, drying stability, and bioactivity preservation. His PhD and extensive research background in proteins, co-products, and novel processing technologies inform a highly practical, applied approach. He plays a key role in translating research into premium, commercially viable nutritional ingredients.

Waitaki Biosciences is a New Zealand nutraceutical manufacturer specialising in natural, science-based functional ingredients sourced from the country’s most pristine regions. From the rich marine environment of Marlborough to the pastoral heartlands of Waikato, Canterbury and Southland, provenance is at the centre of everything they do.
